Face-To-Face

Face-to-Face Therapy at The Break Psychology: What to Expect in Our Corrimal Space

There’s something special about sitting down in a space designed for reflection, connection, and calm. At The Break Psychology, our face-to-face sessions take place in our beautiful practice in Corrimal — a space created with intention, comfort, and warmth in mind.

If you prefer in-person support, value human connection, or simply like stepping into a dedicated therapeutic environment, our face-to-face sessions might be the right fit for you. Here’s an overview of how they work and what you can expect.

A Space Designed to Support You

Our Corrimal rooms are quiet, inviting, and intentionally crafted to feel safe, steady, and grounding. From the moment you step inside, our goal is to help you feel welcomed — never rushed, never judged.

Clients often tell us the space itself helps them settle into therapy more easily.

It’s where life slows down for an hour so you can focus on what matters most.

How Face-to-Face Sessions Work

Each in-person session runs for 50 minutes. During that time, we work together on your goals using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, schema-informed work, trauma-informed care, or systemic approaches.

Here’s what your session may include:

  • exploring thoughts, emotions, and patterns

  • learning practical tools to help with anxiety, trauma, or low mood

  • developing emotional regulation strategies

  • working through life transitions or difficult relationships

  • building confidence, insight, and clarity

  • processing trauma at your pace in a safe, grounded environment

The final few minutes of the hour allow us to update notes, reflect on progress, and plan your next steps.

Why Choose Face-to-Face Therapy?

Face-to-face sessions can be especially supportive if you:

  • feel more present in a structured setting

  • prefer being in the same physical space as your therapist

  • want a private environment away from home or work

  • benefit from the subtle cues and connection that come with in-person contact

  • are working through deeper trauma, nervous system work, or emotion regulation strategies

For many people, attending in person helps create a rhythm — a regular moment in the week to step away from the noise and reconnect with yourself.

The Benefits of Being in the Room

While all modes of therapy are effective, in-person sessions offer unique advantages:

✔ A dedicated, distraction-free environment

A calm, thoughtfully designed space helps you settle into the work more deeply.

✔ Strong sense of relational connection

Sometimes being physically present makes therapy feel more supportive and grounding.

✔ Ideal for trauma-focused work

In-person sessions allow for more subtle attunement and pacing.

✔ A weekly ritual of care

Many clients find that simply arriving at the space becomes a powerful part of their self-care routine.
